Since 1998 Hurst’s Berry Farm has been growing fruit in Mexico in order to provide a continuous supply of fresh berries year round. Mexico’s warmer climate allows us to grow berries there from October through June. We now farm on 450 acres in the states of Michoacan, Jalisco and Colima, Mexico, where we grow red raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. We will be harvesting all of these berries Oct. - May.
Our Mexico operation is managed by Salvador Alvarez Barboza, who has been with our company since 2002. He has been General manager since 2004. In addition, Mark Hurst spends half his time at the farms in Mexico during their season and oversees the operation. Mark enjoys working with the local people and the cultural respect that they give to everyone.
In the future we plan to keep expanding our berry-growing operations. This will allow us to serve you better! |
